News and Updates
Celebrating Women in Theatre
Stage Left Theatre Company will be presenting a tribute to women in theatre during Artwalk Weekend, on June 28th and 29th. The show will consist of a variety of scenes and monologues exploring women's relationships with their families and friends, their careers, and with themselves.
Created and directed by Greg West, the show's featured selections are all from plays by 20th century playwrights. Pieces will be presented from The Glass Menagerie, Laundry and Bourbon, The Heidi Chronicles, How I Learned to Drive, and others, including the relatively unknown On the Verge.
The comedies and dramas of women's lives will be portrayed by a wonderful group of local women: Jane Templeton, Denise Goetz, Bailee Shreyer-Bragassa, Gayle Anne Dudley, Shelley Jacobs, Jill Grose, Theresa Vosburgh, Dorothy Cladas, Julianne Hill, and newcomer to the stage Casey Nesbitt.
Performances of Celebrating Women in Theatre will be at 4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday, June 28th and 29th at the Salida Steamplant Theatre and Events Center. Admission is free and donations will be gratefully accepted.

Lysistrata
The theme for our 2008 season is "women and theatre." Our first show, Lysistrata, was performed March 7, 8, and 9. "A hilarious and timely battle of the sexes," Lysistrata was a comedy the cast enjoyed performing as much as the audience loved watching. Pictures for the show are now up and can be viewed here. Our deepest appreciation goes to our sponsors, benefactors, and contributors; we thank them for supporting community theatre in the Arkansas Valley. And we thank you for supporting them.
